Dr. Lynne Haven – Dermatologist – Coolsclupt

When new technology is added to your field it can be an opportunity to expand your product line. That’s what Dr. Lynne Haven thought when she first heard about Coolsclupting, a non invasive procedure to decrease fat deposits. As a ballerina early in life, Lynne became interested in sports medicine for dancers and athletes. But the artistic and esthetic side of medicine was always of interest and in medical school she turned to dermatology.

Lynne sees how the trend for skin beauty and health is moving towards less invasive procedures and treatments and her practice showcases the latest technology. “I work to be on the cutting edge of the new things being offered in the field of cosmetic dermatology as well as traditional dermatologic treatments and assessments.” When asks how she feels about women (and men) getting cosmetic treatments to slow the look of aging, she says, “It frees your mental energy to think about other things. I enjoy giving natural results non invasively.”

Offering fillers, lasers and Thermage, a skin tightening procedure, to her patients, there is one treatment that is rapidly growing in popularity – Coolsculpting, a process developed by Harvard Scientists. “No matter how much someone diets or exercises there are pockets of fat that won’t go away, like belly fat and love handles.” Coolsclupting literally freezes the fat cells and shrinks them by as much as 25%.” Lynne has expanded her services by setting up a Coolsculpting studio in her offer with all of the equipment to treat different body parts including arms, legs, stomach and hips. According to the inventors and many happy clients, Coolsculpting is safe and effective and there is no down time.

Lynne saw a demand that she was able to meet for her patients. “My advice to other VentureMoms is to keep an open mind, you never know what will be interesting or fulfilling to you and what can give your business a boost.”

Working with people of all ages, screening for skin cancer is at the top of her list of assignments and she suggests a yearly body check. Lynne also offers many of the cosmetic treatments that eradicate sun damage, like peels and lasers as well as topicals such as retinoids and anti-oxidants to reduce sun damage.

Lynne combines her full time practice with motherhood – her boys are 8 and 10 and her daughter is 20, and says, “There are phases where things go in and out of balance but talking with other moms and networking about how to manage both, helps so much.”
