Featured VentureMom: Rhonda Swenson – Founder of Krimson Klover

One of the things I’m always drawn to is a brand that knows exactly who it’s for—and why it exists. Krimson Klover is one of those brands.

Founded by Rhonda Sciortino, Krimson Klover is an outdoor brand powered by women who believe in living a life fueled by adventure, meaningful connection, and giving back. Since launching its first line of active lifestyle sweaters in 2009, the brand has been quietly rewriting how women are seen in the outdoors, in business, and in their everyday lives.

But Rhonda’s story actually begins much earlier, in 1985, when she was working as a flight attendant for American Airlines. She took the job to help offset the cost of visiting her Australian boyfriend, never imagining it would set her on an entirely new path. During her travels, Rhonda met a woman who owned a boutique sweater company. The two immediately connected, and before long Rhonda found herself traveling to South America to help oversee sweater production.

There, she witnessed something that changed her forever. “The knitters’ work was incredible,” Rhonda recalls. “These women left a piece of their soul in each sweater they created.” Inspired by the skilled craftswomen and the artistry behind the product, Rhonda began designing sweaters herself. Within three years, she bought the company.

Originally from Austin, Texas, she credits her mother for passing down a love of travel and her father for teaching her to live fully in the moment. That philosophy is woven into everything she creates at Krimson Klover.

The brand blends performance and effortless style with ethical sourcing, long-lasting materials, and a commitment to responsible manufacturing. Krimson Klover also gives back through partnerships with organizations like Girls on the Run and SOS Outreach, supporting girls and young women through sport, mentorship, and confidence-building experiences.

“Our clothes are easy—they look great and make you feel great,” Rhonda says. That ease is intentional. It leaves more time for hiking, skiing, entertaining, traveling—or all of the above. As she puts it, life isn’t only about work. It’s about getting out there and living it.
