Featured VentureMoms –  Ali Mejia and Mariela Rovito

These are the co-founders of Eberjey! In 1996, they embarked on their entrepreneurial journey with a vision to create pajamas and lingerie that seamlessly blended sensuality with comfort.

Born in El Salvador and raised in Miami, Ali’s passion for design and luxury pajamas began at an early age. Inspired by her mom’s European sleepwear and its beautiful attention to detail, Ali started obsessing over altering and redesigning clothing before she even entered middle school.

Raised in Miami and born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mariela is a self-starter entrepreneur who co-founded Eberjey alongside Ali. While colleagues in their early twenties, Ali shared her initial designs and vision with Mariela who quickly saw the business potential. Together they decided to combine their strengths and turn their daydream into reality.

Fast forward to today, and the founders of Eberjey proudly inform us that their team is predominantly composed of women, accounting for a substantial 95%, with many of them being mothers themselves.

This particular dynamic underscored the importance of providing their employees with the flexibility and necessary resources to effectively manage the intricate balancing act between work and motherhood, especially during the challenging period of the pandemic when children transitioned to remote learning and childcare options became scarce. In response to these evolving needs,

Eberjey has taken a significant step by instituting permanent remote work options, thus ensuring that their team can continue to enjoy this flexibility.
