Featured VentureMom: Jennifer Richardson — Helping Women Live Healthier, Happier Lives

Meet Jennifer Richardson, a New Canaan native and mom of four who turned her lifelong passion for health and fitness into a thriving second career. After raising her children—three sons now living in New York City and a daughter in college—Jennifer decided it was time to focus on herself and pursue what she truly loved: helping others feel their best. Today, as a certified nutrition coach with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program, she empowers women to transform their health through sustainable, science-backed strategies.

Jennifer’s connection to New Canaan runs deep. She moved to town in seventh grade and instantly fell in love with its charm, community, and small-town feel. “When my husband and I got married, I wanted to live in New Canaan and he wanted Greenwich,” she laughs. “We bid on houses in both towns, and lucky for me, the New Canaan one came through!”

Health and wellness have always been central to Jennifer’s life. “I’ve always loved to cook, walk, research new health trends, and find creative, nutritious recipes,” she says. For years, Jennifer dedicated her time to volunteering in the community—serving on the Board of Education, the PFA, and countless school committees. But once her youngest left for college, she knew it was time for a new chapter.

During COVID, Jennifer discovered FASTer Way to Fat Loss, a program created by Amanda Tress in 2016. A certified personal trainer and nutritionist, Amanda founded FASTer Way after realizing her clients were getting better results through a mix of intermittent fasting, carb cycling, and strategic workouts than through traditional dieting. Grounded in Biblical nutrition and at-home fitness, Amanda’s holistic approach quickly gained a following through real client results and organic referrals.

Jennifer was drawn to the program’s science-based, sustainable methods. “I was intrigued by the approach and decided to give it a try,” she recalls. “I lost the weight I’d been trying to lose for years, my body composition changed dramatically—and I was eating more and working out less than before!” The results were so life-changing that she decided to become a certified coach herself.

Today, Jennifer leads clients through her six-week FASTer Way program, offering one-on-one coaching, education, and ongoing support. Each participant receives access to a mobile app that includes customized nutrition goals, daily workouts, and meal plans.

The best part of her job? “When clients call or text to tell me the program has changed their lives,” Jennifer says with a smile. “Seeing women feel confident, strong, and in control of their health is so rewarding.”

Her advice to other moms thinking about starting a business: “Do some soul-searching and make sure you can balance it all. And most importantly—do what you love. Don’t be afraid to say no to things that don’t serve you.”
