“After many arguments over colors, fabrics, styles and who should be the fit model, we are so excited to share Favorite Daughter with you. We thought of everything we wished we had in our closets and instead of buying them, we made them. We hope you find a new favorite, something you would steal out of your sister’s closet.”
These two sisters are better known as writers and comedians but when they were approached to use their humor on t-shirts a new brand was born. “In 2018 Suburban Riot approached us to do a collab putting our funny captions on t-shirts and sweatshirts,” Sara says. “’Favorite Daughter’ was the name of a company my sisters and I started 13 years ago and never did anything with. We thought it would be cute to add it into the collab.”
The success of the t-shirts caught the eye of a larger collaborator. They had been thinking about creating a line of their favorite things but the ability to have the guidance from a seasoned clothier, made it all happen.
They started with several basics in cashmere and have added to the line each season. Their younger sister is involved now as well. Sara and Erin say they’re still trying to figure out who they are as a brand and learn the business side of fashion at the same time. Looks like they’re doing pretty well.
