✨VentureMom Highlight ✨ Celebrity Kate Hudson/Fabletics

Actress Kate Hudson’s clothing brand, Fabletics, was born from her love of movement. She began in 2013 when she offered a line of legging, sports bras, tops, and shirts, that is priced for accessibility.  Hudson, became famous in the year 2000 when she was featured in the film Almost Famous and won a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Since then, she’s continued to act in both movies and television and become a mom to two boys and a girl.

Physical activity has been second nature to Hudson for many years. She started Fabletics because she wanted to support other women seeking to live active lives. Many pieces are priced below $50. The company has a unique feature where members fill out detailed questionnaires so the brand can offer items tailored to their style preferences and activity choices.

Hudson has been inspired to see women in Fabletics online forums encouraging one another to meet their goals for exercise.

“People think you need two hours a day to do it,” Hudson says. “If you work out 20 minutes a day in some way, you’re going to see changes  I wanted women to get excited about being active, and one way to do that is to make it easy, fun, and affordable. We wanted to create a model that would allow us to have a quality that’s comparable to (or better than) other brands but that’s also accessible so that it can reach more women. I also felt strongly that it should be inclusive so that women of any size, shape, age, or ability could feel great in the clothes. The whole endeavor was just as much about wanting to inspire women to be healthier as it was about wanting to create a successful brand.”
