Q: Hi Holly!
Love your site – extremely helpful. I’m writing with another question. I have a great product idea but I need to sew a few different examples of the my options. It’s not basic sewing – a zipper and grommets are involved in addition to use of a certain type of thread. The problem – I don’t know how to sew! How do I find someone to help me with the sewing without jeopardizing my idea?
Thanks! Anne

Q: I have an invention for those who push strollers and need some advice on the steps to producing a prototype and manufacturing a product to sell. I do not know whether I should meet with venture capitalists or try to fund a project on my own. I would like to start small and then grow. Do you have any advice on the steps I should take?
Best, Jennifer Ware

Q: Hi Holly, It’s great to hear to hear the success stories of Moms and more specifically, a local Mom (I live in Fairfield County), too! Anyway, I am embarking on a new e-commerce venture and have questions surrounding branding & website design for the online ‘store’ as well as press. I have my concept, a business plan and now need to get everything off the ground which means a knock-out website that allows a customer have an optimal, easy and streamlined experience which also dovetails with driving business to the site. Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks! Anne

Q: Hello Holly – I attended your panel discussion at the Westport Library this week. It was terrific – very inspiring for women entrepreneurs in the making like myself. And so well attended! Not only did I learn so much about the various businesses of the panel members and how they and you got started, but I also was very interested in the programs and services of the Westport Library.
You mentioned during your presentation that you had members of VentureMom who were in the service side of business. I am currently looking for website designers, logo designers and women with expertise in guiding businesses through online media and social networking tools to help them reach their target audiences. Is there a way that I could get your recommendations for finding women offering those services in your network? These references would not only be for me and my business [I have designed a group of products targeted at women who need help organizing their jewelry. I am in the patent application process now.] but also for other women that I am in contact with looking for similar services.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Q: Hi Holly, I was at the Westport Public Library on Tuesday for the “Women Talk Business” series. Boy, did you inspire me! I started a business a few years ago “eco-chic essentials”. My partner is calling it quits. It is real hard to let it go since I put my heart and soul into it. My problem is I have the ideas but no financing.
We just got editorial credit in Martha Stewart’s winter wedding issue but no business. I need some good advice, time is running out.
Thanks! Janet
